A most impressive debut... from a talent destined for wide acclaim
— The Australian

Since releasing his debut jazz album to critical acclaim and a four star review in The Australian, Creswick (F.ka Liam Budge) has continued to establish himself as one of Australia's leading vocalists and song-writers. In 2014 Creswick relocated to New York City to begin working on new musical ventures and projects. During this year Creswick recorded and played with New York City's finest musicians including Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, Kris Bowers & Brad Williams. Liam also studied under Grammy-Winning Jazz Vocalist Kurt Elling.

Most recently Creswick launched his jazz project “Creswick” and released a self-titled Debut EP in 2018. This EP featured guitarist Nir Felder (John Mayer, Chaka Khan) and saxophonist Troy Roberts (Van Morrison, Jeff Tain Watts). Liam has performed on many of New York's finest and storied stages, including Blue Note Jazz Club, Madison Square Garden, Jazz at the Lincoln Center, The Bitter End and Rockwood Music Hall.

Creswick has won several awards and recognitions including the Australia Arts Council's ArtStart Scholarship, James Morrison Generations in Jazz Award and two ARTSACT scholarships.



Teaching

Since 2019 Liam has taught at the Australian National University in the Jazz & Contemporary music program.

An exploration of fatherhood across different cultures and backgrounds. Examining the shared and unique experiences, it aims to highlight the importance and beauty of fatherhood.”

This project is centered around the compositions and videography of Creswick (f.k.a Liam Budge).

Featuring Brett Williams (Keys), Ben Hauptmann (Guitars), James Hauptmann (Drums) & Chris Pound (Bass), this project was performed live at The Street Theatre in June 2023.

Flight Memory paired ARIA-nominated composer Sandra France (From a Black Sky) with Helpmann-Award winning playwright and librettist Alana Valentine (Barbara and the Camp Dogs, Cold Light, MP

Alongside Michelle Nicole (Winner of Bell Award 2017) & Leisa Keen, Creswick performed the role of David Warren in this stage production that combined music, theatre and visual design.

 Budge does a skillful job of informing and reacting to the movement of the dancers and blending his song, sounds and breath with a recorded soundscape “ CityNews

This innovative site specific performance was Directed by Alison Plevey (Australian Dance Party). With improvised vocals by Creswick (f.k.a Liam Budge), John Mackey (Saxophone) and compositions by Alex Voorhoeve, the performance season featured as part of the Enlighten Festival and Bold Festival.

Designed by Chilean architects Pezo von Ellrichshausen, the Less sculpture presented the perfect backdrop to this experimental and adventurous work.
